Even if the laptop was switched off there is still power available on the motherboard, as the Power button is not a power isolating button If the liquid seeped through the keyboard or the sides of the trackpad it could have come into contact with the keyboard circuit board and the motherboard etc and caused the resultant problems. Bleach is also corrosive to some metals as well. You have most likely damaged the keyboard, the trackpad and possibly the motherboard as wellĬlorox is a bleach which means that it will conduct electricity even if it has been diluted with water, (which also conducts electricity and causes corrosion - unless it is distilled water that is).
Do not charge or turn on the laptop as you can cause more damage.
